Would you do this so it's done right?

Would you do this so it's done right?

I know that my partner does not clean as long or as hard as me. Being the daughter of a nurse, I like things to be sterile and bleach is my friend. Unfortunately my partner does not have the same attitude to germs as me and we have had a few crossed words in the past with regards to cleaning.

There is nothing more frustrating in a relationship than half arsed attempts at things and it's a fact that men do it so they don’t get asked to help out around the house by their women folk. Three in ten, do this in a bid to avoid having to do household chores at all.

The trust in relationships is consequently broken when it comes to keeping the house in order and many women would rather do it themselves than have to re do it after their men have made a botched job.

A spokesman for Victoria Plumb said: ‘’Most guys will admit they don’t always pull their weight when it comes to the cleaning, but it’s worrying to see so many purposely do a bad job.

‘’Hardly anyone enjoys cleaning, especially the most hated chores like cleaning the bathroom, and it’s likely to your partner wants to avoid having to do it as much as you do.

‘’But intentionally doing something wrong, or half-heartedly in the hope you won’t get lumbered with the task again in the future is a risky game.

‘Your partner could see right through your plans and end up asking you to help out more often as a punishment.

‘’The easiest solution is to share the chores, without doing a bad job of them, so that everyone is happy.’’

Men are far too preoccupied with what they could be doing rather than doing the job right for a little longer-playing on the Xbox is far more exciting than a mere 10 minutes spent cleaning the bathroom. Right?

A quarter claim that they do it to keep their other half happy, but their lax attitude towards the job is making their partner’s angry not ecstatic. It seems that women may have shot themselves in the foot as men always expect their partner to go over it anyway- as a means of explaining why they don’t really put in a lot of effort. But most hope that they won’t be asked to do any more chores and for 60% of men- this works! The trouble is that women know about the devious planning of their partners and this mutual knowledge results in many an argument.

So to fuel our fire more- we take a look at those jobs men will not do to our standards.

Top 10 jobs men deliberately do badly:

Cleaning the bathroom- A quick rinse with the shower head and that is all- so the sink and the floor get missed due to the avoidance of damp floor boards and collapsing ceilings.

Cleaning the toilet- Putting bleach down the toilet and flushing- again the floor is neglected even though they are the ones to always miss!

Cleaning the shower- Spraying cleaner around and then leaving it to soak in and conveniently forgetting to wipe it off afterwards.

Washing up- Not cleaning all the dirt off the plates to show they are incapable of this simple act.

Loading/unloading the dishwasher- Only if they need something from it- the rest is left- or the dishes get put back in the wrong place.

Hanging clothes up to dry- One on top of the other so they don’t actually dry.

Ironing- Only when they need a top on a special occasion and then they burn it or make it look even more creased than when they started.

Making the bed- Throwing the duvet in the general direction of the bed and not tidying it or sorting the pillows.

Clothes washing- All colours and lights go in together and after your favourite white top comes out pink they are banned from ever using it again.

Vacuuming- They don’t move anything- just hoover around it and always forget the stairs because they are just too hard to negotiate.

Kitchen- Brushing crumbs onto the floor instead of the bin and pushing the rubbish in the bin further down so they don’t have to empty it.

If you want something doing right- do it yourself- unfortunately springs to mind!
