It's always the way- you try to be careful with your money throughout your holiday so you don’t run out or if there’s an emergency.

Thankfully, most of the time things go smoothly but you're left with a wad of foreign currency.
Neither of you consider keeping it to exchange once you're home- you splash out at the airport on things you really don't need. Here we have the usual culprits:
Soft toys- Your home is riddled with these little dust harbourers anyway but you convince yourself you need another one in your collection. One that has a t-shirt on it emblazoned with the map of the place you've just come from.
Sunglasses- Well you might need a pair for your next holiday- there's nothing like being prepared.
Perfume/aftershave- You know you'll want to rid yourselves of the smell of other sweaty people and airplane food- this is the only way.
Luxury chocolate - Well- neither of you have to be beach ready anymore- so bring on the sugar and carbs!
Super-sized bottles of spirit- You will need something to get you through the reality of being back at work on your first weekend at home- this will do the trick.
Cosmetic and grooming products - You will want to make yourselves feel better once the pounds creep on- things to make people focus on your face will stop them noticing your increasing, post-holiday waistline and butt.
Handbags/bags- You really don't want to let go of the memories so this is a way of reminding you of them every day.
Top of the range earphones / headphones- So you can listen to the soundtrack of your vacation in high quality- while you weep into your morning coffee.
Novelty clothing - hats, gloves, T-shirts- If you're going to feel like crap when you get off the plane at least you can both get some laughs from the people picking you up.
Electronic gadgets - tablets and mobile devices- It's going to take you months to pay off your holiday- an I-pad is just a drop in the ocean (the ocean you can no longer see out your bedroom window *tears*.
