The truth is, nervous show and could potentially ruin the date altogether so here are a few things you can do to prepare for a first date and avoid ruining your chances!

Dress Comfortably

Of course, you want to look super sexy and dressing comfortably doesn’t mean that you can’t but it does mean that you’ll be more at ease.

Never wear a dress or a pair of shoes before you’ve trialled them, you don’t want to end up walking like a baby giraffe because your shoes are rubbing your feet raw.

Wear something that you know looks good but that you feel confident in, your confidence will shine through, making you a more attractive person to be around.

Pre-Date Pamper

Take the day to pamper yourself. Have a lovely long bath, preen every inch of yourself to perfection and make sure you feel great.

If you feel great about yourself then this will have a positive impact on how you present yourself.

You’ll hold yourself taller and be less likely to get flustered and nervous when you meet up with your date.

Avoid Dutch Courage

Drinking before you go on the date might be said to calm your nerves but if you get a little too happy with your pouring hand then it could all end in disaster.

No man wants to find their date staggering outside the restaurant and slurring their words in his face before they’ve even sat down to dinner.

When on the date, stick to the two drink rule to avoid any embarrassing moments – your first date shouldn’t end with your date carrying you to the taxi.

Time Management

The worst impression you can make on a first date is to stand up your date, so make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to get ready and get to the venue.

Check the traffic on your route before you leave so you know if you’re going to have to leave early to get there in time.

Keep in Contact

Make sure you let you date know that you’re looking forward to your plans and always double check times and places.

You don’t want to turn up at the wrong place and be left standing waiting for a date that isn’t coming!

If you’re going to be late then let him know and apologise, reassuring him that you’ll be there as soon as you can.
