James Bond Voted Greatest Fictional Playboy

If your heart skips a beat when see the name James Bond then you’re not the only one.

Despite him being a fictional character, many women have admitted to having a huge crush on him and, as a result, he has been named the greatest fictional playboy of all time.

It wasn’t just James Bond that has earned fictional playboy status, many of our favourite bad boys made it into the top 10.

Taking second place was the infamous Bruce Wayne, who was closely followed by the almighty Tony Stark.

When it comes to falling for these fictional bad boys, over half of British women admitted to doing so, with 10 per cent saying they had stronger feelings for them than they did for their partner!

Rachel Josephson, Sales and Marketing Director for AudioGo who conducted the research in light of The Great Gatsby release, said, “'Fictional playboys' mix of power and charm ensures they were a hit with both men and women.

“It's the air of adventure and charm that make playboys so endearing and part of many great stories. Great leading men like Gatsby are never forgotten and as the new Baz Luhrmann film adaptation proves, still go on to inspire whole new generations alongside brand new characters.

“For men, playboys serve as a fantasy role model to try and emulate, while many women are excited by their devil-may-care demeanour.”

Mr Gatsby himself came in at number six in the top 10, behind Don Juan and Dorian Gray.

Perhaps surprisingly, Austin Powers came in at number 7 and although he is quite the ladies’ man, we can’t quite understand how.

Thomas Crown, Alfie and Arthur finished up the top 10, all being considered some of the greatest fictional playboys.

Unsurprisingly, sex appeal was named as one of the key qualities for a fictional playboy but intelligence was named the most important quality.

A carefree attitude, a sense of adventure and having power were also considered to be major qualities.
