TV show This Morning told the tale of how ‘Danny’ has gone through penoplasty, a penis enlargement surgery, due to the ‘toxic messages from women and the media’, but is size really that important?
It’s thought that the bigger the penis, the better the man, and this isn’t just a recent notion either.
For years, all over the world, men have been trying to enlarge their penis through a number of strange methods.
The Sadhus, Indian mystics, have been known to hang weights on their penis from an early age to try and stretch it.
Even stranger, the Topinama tribesmen of Brazil attempt to lure poisonous snakes into biting their manhood to make it bigger.
There are plenty more modern ‘solutions’ to getting a bigger penis, such as pills, pumps and creams but Dr David Devlin believes there is no need to resort to these.
He said, “When you look down at your own organ, it seems shorter than it really is. In contrast, when you glance around at other guys in changing rooms or showers, you get a sideways view of them. So they usually seem to be longer than you are.”
The NHS say that the average length of an erect penis in adults is 5.5 – 6.3 inches and the average girth is 4.7 – 5.1.
Only if an adult’s penis is less than three inches long when it is erect, would it be classed as small.
At three inches, a man can still stimulate a woman with his penis, but any smaller than that would be difficult.
‘Danny’s’ plastic surgeon, Dr Roberto Viel of the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery, says that he has seen a 45 per cent increase in penis enlargement surgery in the past year, and that he now performs four to five procedures a week.
The surgery involves taking fat from other parts of the body and injecting it into the penis to improve the length and girth, but is there really a need for it?
If three inches are enough then why are men injecting their manhood with fat to please women, especially when figures show that 85 per cent of women are happy with their partner’s penis size?
‘Danny’ admits that this is something he did just because he could, rather than because he’d wanted it his whole life, but would you sleep with a man if you knew he’d had the procedure?
