53% of Brits admit that they spend more time on a digital device than quality time with their partner. Smartphones are the worst culprit as coupes admit this is the most addictive of all the gadgets, closely followed by I pads, computers, game consoles and TV.

Many admitted that they had become too dependent on their digital devices and only a small percentage were able to have some restraint when using them.

Sadly, 32% revealed they spend more time scrolling through their phone than talking to their partner. Even when addressed- 76% would refuse to turn off their phone while with their partner because of potential emergencies.

What's even more startling is 66% admitted to scrolling through their phone while they knew their partner was trying to tell them something or engage them in conversation.

George Charles of www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk made the following comment on the results of the study:

"We hear that we're all becoming increasingly more dependent on technology as it develops but often we don't even really think about it. It's very easy to get in from work and completely ignore your other half, instead choosing to go on your phone or games console for the duration of the evening, without engaging in conversation with our loved ones. We forget that life is not meant to be lived hiding behind a screen. It's time to put down the controller or phone and actually talk about your day without just tweeting about it! Technology is amazing and using your free time to do what you want with it is fine, we just need to remember to spend quality time with the people we love."
