This Summer sees the dawn of a new social phenomena with the birth of the retrosexual man, according to a report published today.
According to the research a new 'real' man is typically aged between 35-44 years old, lives in the Midlands, London or the North West, earns over £34,000 and is good at fixing things around the house.
Report author and leading relationship psychologist Susan Quilliam explains: The John McClane character in Die Hard is the epitome of the real man the Retrosexual. His choice of clothing shows off his physical strength and his ability to save the day illustrates his gallant nature. It is McClanes fantastic display of strength and capability which women truly crave - they want to be saved and then cherished!
The report also revealed that the retrosexual man is beating off all the other men around. When questioned 81% of women would choose to date a retrosexual like Bruce Willis or Daniel Craig, while a mere 6% would go for a 'new man' like Jude Law.
Only 13% of the women would prefer the boyish charms of a 90s lad like Noel Gallagher and a lousy 0% said they would like to date a 'metrosexual' moisturiser such as Orllando Bloom.
The main qualities which turn women on are protectiveness, heroism and strength according to the report- well didn't we already know that? Who fantasises about a wimpy weakling who will run off at the first sign of trouble?
According to the stats - if women want a Retrosexual, then men want to be one! When asked what type men aspire to be 74% aspired to have retrosexual qualities- looks like a win win situation then. Bring on the retrosexuals!

Wow! Must go and buy some white vests like Bruce Willis. Never saw him mending much around the home though.
