We see Williams on the big screen this weekend in The Butler as Dwight D Eisenhower, so we have a look back over his past relationships.
Williams first wife was Valerie Velardi, whom he married on the 4th June 1978, the pair had one child together- Zachary Pym, born on the 11th April 1983.
While he was married to Velardi, he had an affair with Michelle Trish Carter, a cocktail waitress, who he initially met in 1984. In 1986, she sued him because she became infected the the herpes simplex virus and claimed that he didn’t tell her before they became sexually active. Williams and Velardi subsequently separated in 1988.
In 1989, Williams married Marsha Garces, she son’s nanny who was already pregnant at the time with his second child. Zelda Rae was born on the 31st July 1989 and Cody Alan was born on the 25th November 1991. In March 2008, Garces filed for divorce, marking his second failed marriage after she cited irreconcilable differences.
On October 23rd 2011, Williams married for third time to graphic design Susan Schneider in St Helen California. They now life in Sea Cliff in San Francisco, California.
