Perfect Ten

The research suggests that 10 was the perfect number as any more than ten would make your promiscuous and any less would mean you were sexually in experienced.

Dating site SeekingArrangment.com conducted the survey and found that 50 per cent of their female members and 46 per cent of male members though 10 to be the perfect number of sexual partners.

It seemed that men are less tolerant of promiscuity than women as only 10 per cent of men thought that between 10 and 30 was the perfect number compared to 11 per cent of women.

To add to that 2 per cent of men saw more than 30 than an acceptable number compared to 3 per cent of women.

The majority of men also weren’t interested in knowing the total number of men a woman had slept with, with only 30 per cent saying they would like to know.

More women wished to know a man’s total, with 35 per cent saying it was something that they would be interested in finding out.

Nicki Howarth, 26, uses SeekingArrangement.com and is dating a millionaire who uses the site. She thinks it’s important for a man to know what he’s doing in bed.

She said, “It is definitely a perfect ten for me. You want to date a man who is confident and knows what he is doing sexually. To be good in bed, you need experience and you get that through getting to know what women want.”

Nicki also said that she would never tell a man how many people she had slept with. She said, “Guys do often ask me but I’d rather not say – you like to keep a bit of mystery. My advice to any girl is:  don’t tell, particularly if your figure is above ten. Most guys will think worse of you.”

Celebrities seem to be breaking all the rules when it comes to keeping to the perfect 10, even Nick Clegg famously admitted that to Piers Morgan that there were “no more than 30 notches” on his bed post.

Rocker Mick Jagger is thought to have slept with over 4,000 women and Russell Brand was sleeping with three women a day at the height of his promiscuity.

There is a lack of women celebrities to come forward and brag about their conquests but writer Lynn Barber once famously said on Desert Island Discs that she had slept with 50 men in two terms at Oxford University.

SeekingArrangement founder Brandon Wade said, “The dating game is changing so quickly. I think we are all becoming a lot more tolerant and sexually adventurous.

“If we had conducted this poll ten years ago, men would have expected a potential partner to have slept with far few people, but a gentlemen never asks a woman who many men she has slept with.”

Do you think 10 sexual partners too many or not enough? Would you want to know how many sexual partners your date had had?
