Just under two thirds of women have said that they think tall men are sexier than short men.

So what exactly do they class as tall? Well, any man over six foot will fit the bill, but it’s bad news for the shorter gent.

Women voted height as the most important physical characteristic for a man, with 70 per cent of women stating that they see a man’s height as important.

Apparently it’s no secret that women want a tall man as 81 per cent of men said that they thought women preferred the taller gent.

Despite women being picky when it comes to height, the majority of men said that they would have no problem dating a lady who was taller than them.

In fact, men actually prefer tall women! The majority of men said that their ideal woman would be 5’ 10” tall.

Our preferences seemed to have changed with the changing height of men. In the last century men are thought to have become over 4 inches taller on average.

This puts the average modern male’s height at 5’ 10”, compared to just 5’ 6” 100 years ago!

Sadly for men, women believe that short man syndrome exists, with nearly two thirds believing it could be a real syndrome.

Gill Politis, Managing Director of High and Mighty who conducted the survey, said, “Although it now seems 6ft is just a starting point for desirability when it comes to men’s height, the survey findings don’t come as a complete surprise as we are seeing taller and taller guys come into our stores and shopping online.

“Scientists say the average man has grown by four inches in the last century due to improvements in diet and public health and that a typical male is now 5ft 10 inches so I suppose as men get taller so does the height expectation of women.”
