It now seems that 95 per cent of women have fantasied about the exact same scenario happening to them.

Brandon Wade, founder of whatsyourprice.com who conducted the research said, “The premise of a Nicholas Sparks movie is finding love in unexpected, sometimes impossible places. There's often tragic circumstances and sordid plot lines for redemption and heroism involved.

“It’s an endearing version of fiction that almost seems real. So when it rains, women think of these stories and it seems like an attainable fairy tale just within reach.”

Out of the 95 per cent of women that wish to kiss in the rain, 57 per cent admitted that it is due to the Nicholas Sparks novel or film adaptation.

It’s not just women whose libido’s are increased by the type of weather, 64 per cent of men admitted to being turned on during a thunder storm.

Power shortages due to the weather were a great time to get it on for 43 per cent of people.

Over three quarters of women said they have read the book or seen the film, compared to only 36 per cent of men.

Incredibly 24 per cent of men said they have mirrored the romantic scene from the book/film to impress a woman.

Brandon continues, “An intense storm can inspire romance by creating unexpected romantic conditions and unique opportunities for chivalry.

“Most men become more nurturing and chivalrous under certain conditions, traits which are very attractive to a woman. Add forced candle light and high emotions, and anything could happen.”
