If you're confused by your DTHs and your LTRs, True View has decoded the language of love in 2015 for you.

Take your dating lingo to new heights!

Take your dating lingo to new heights!

For those who are recently single or just not up with the dating scene because it's been so long since your last relationship, you need to pay attention. No longer do people advertise in the local paper- that has seen its day.

If you're wondering why people are on their phones so much all the time- it's because this is the new and best way to meet other people looking for love. Dating apps have taken over singles bars and there's a new language being used in order to communicate with potential dates. Lonely Hearts columns are a thing of the past- if you have a GSOH (good sense of humour) you need to be telling people so from your phone.

So let us introduce you to a new world of acronyms that singletons are using in order to show their interest in a potential mate.

In years gone by, the acronyms consisted of WLTMs (would like to meet) and DTEs (down to earth) as well as a LTRs (long term relationships). The list has only got bigger, so here are the letters that should mean something in your world if you're looking for a new relationship in 2015.

Matt Verity, co-founder of TrueView, says: ' It may seem like there's a lot of new stuff to navigate, which might make singles who have recently come back onto the market feel a bit daunted, but once they've got the hang of it, they will be fine. It's mainly the younger generation who like abbreviations and text speak, as it's just quicker and easier; anyone over the age of 30 or so probably won't encounter this as much.'
