With the release of Captain Phillips starring Tom Hanks we thought we would look at his dating history over his many years as an actor.
Hanks was originally married actress Samantha Lewes (real name: Susan Dillingham) from 1978 till 1987 when they divorced. They had two children together, Colin Hanks and Elizabeth Ann. Lewes unfortunately died 14 years after they divorced.
In 1988, Hanks got married to Rita Wilson, an actress he met on the television show Bosom Buddies. They couple sealed the deal when they worked together again on the set of Volunteers. The pair have two children Chester and Truman and recently starred together again in Larry Crowne.
When Hanks married Wilson at Saint Sophia’s Church he converted from Roman Catholic to Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
