Although it shouldn’t be your mission to be sloppy with your lover- there are times when you just can’t help it and chances are they don’t mind because they want to be sloppy too. Here are a few occasions when it's acceptable.

Relationships on Female First

On a Friday night- When work is over and all you want to do is take off your bra, put on your pjs and tie your hair up in a messy bun.

When you get back from your holiday- Combine jet lag, with several sweaty hours on a plane, baggage claim and a long taxi ride home, all you can think about is your bed, not if your mascara has run.

On a Sunday morning- Sundays are reserved for late showers, bed hair and sweat pants- everyone knows this to be true.

When you're ill- You have no inclination to put on a scrap of make-up, do your hair, shower or get dressed when illness strikes, so he has to accept the sloppier version of you until you're well again.

When you're hungover- You can barely lift your head from the pillow to get some water and headache pills so what are the chances of you doing anything else with this day?

When you've had a really bad day at work- All you want to do is veg out in front of the TV and forget that you're an adult for a while. You hope he doesn't expect conversation, attention or engagement of any kind.

When you're really hungry- There's no way to do this delicately- you just dive in and ask that he please excuse the food stains around your mouth, crumbs down your front and sauce in your hair.

When you've put on weight- You have a muffin top in all of your trousers- so you opt for a forgiving onesie instead- and eat a muffin.

When you've had bad news- When you've been stood up by your friends, seen something unsavoury on Facebook or you find out you have to wait a whole other year for your favourite TV show to come back. The only consolation is to wear something baggy and eat lots of crisps.

When you're decorating- You don't want to ruin any of your normal clothes so you throw on a top and trousers that are covered in paint stains and sticky, scraps of paper you've steamed off your walls. You look like an extra from The Walking Dead but your gloss work is worthy of a medal.

When you're cleaning- You're not going to risk bleach stains on your everyday attire, so you have a special outfit reserved only for toilet duty- it's just as sexy as the job at hand.
