Relationships on Female First

To see who they're dating now- If their new partner is hotter than you- you tell yourself they have a horrible personality- it makes you feel better about the fact you're sat in your pjs watching box-set reruns with melted chocolate around your mouth.

To see what they're doing for work- If they're still in the same career- you don't feel too bad about staying put yourself, but if they're a high flyer now- you immediately reach for the job sites on your phone.

To see it they've put on weight- If they have- it must be due to all those nights in staring at their phone wishing you would call while eating from the buffet of junk food on their bed. You're sporting post break up bulge so you hope they are at least doing the same.

To establish if they look happy- If they haven't posted much since your break-up- they're clearly still mourning over the loss of you. If in all their pictures they are partying and doing amazing stuff- they're trying to distract themselves from missing you- obviously.

To find out if they have reached the same milestones as you- Do they have a spouse, a dog, a job and a car? Yes- but they don't have a mortgage so you're ahead of the game.

To see if they're still single- You're alone, they're alone- you don't want them back but you don't want to see them with someone else either. But if you happen to find someone before them- that's totally fine.

To make contact- Maybe you were destined to be together after all but needed a break- or perhaps you just need to have sex with someone who knows what you're like in the sack.
