A study by Elite Singles has found that only 23% of Brits want to hear 'I love you' everyday compared with 73% of Americans.

Elite Singles' psychologist Salama Marine offers her advice on when it is best use these three romantic words.
"Saying 'I love you' is more efficient than any other phrase. But saying it every day can seem a bit excessive. The heavy meaning of the three words may be lost over time, that's why it is best to be reasonable and save it for special moments."
I tell my partner I love him every day and he does me, so here are my reasons for going against Marine's advice.
It shows commitment- The phrase 'I love you' is a big step in any relationship so by repeating it -shows you are still embracing this milestone each and every day.
It makes your partner feel secure- If something has rocked your relationship lately- this can let your loved one know that whatever life throws at you- you still love them no matter what.
It makes your lover feel yearned for- With love often comes attraction, so if you tell your partner you care for them, they're assured that you still find them sexy too.
It creates a moment- Saying 'I love you' can encourage a passionate kiss, cuddle or even a sex session.
It's perfect for using before, during and/or after sex- It shows that you're not just with your partner for the physical side of the relationship.
It's reassuring- When your partner has had a bad day at work, an argument with a family member or friend- it demonstrates that they will always have you in the absence of others.
It takes no time at all- It's only three words- if you can't summon up the energy to say them once a day, there's something very wrong.
It means more than a gift- The lasting feeling of being told you're loved far outweighs the excitement of a present.
It shows your attachment to your partner- You probably say it to very few others, perhaps family, so it's an expression of how close you feel to the person you're with.
The meaning doesn't get lost- It only evolves over time as your relationship gets stronger.
