MyCelebrityFashion has found that the worst thing a woman can do on a first date is wear leopard print- they would much prefer an any other pattern.

Leopard print aside, there are 4 other dating faux pas that men have little patience for- we take a look.

Playing with your phone too much - By doing this you give the impression that you're not interested in your date and that you may have a mild addiction to digital devices.

Wearing too much makeup - Wearing too much make up can give the impression that you're trying to hide something. As silly as it might sound, men may think this extends to your personal life too. Remember that whoever you end up with will see you without it anyway. Wearing less makes you're at home and you're going out look less of a dramatic shift.

Talking too much - A date should be back and forth, give and take, as you learn things about each other. This is an exercise in how balanced your conversation will be in future if it were to work out. If you talk incessantly your partner will assume you only care about one thing- you.

Turning up late - It's one date- the least you can do is make sure you're early. If you're late, even fashionably so, your date will think they're an afterthought. Think about how they will feel waiting for you- it's hard to shake the suspicion of being stood up which is what they might suspect is happening.

Going back to the leopard print- why is it so offensive? Many men see it as chavvy, ugly and associate it with being easy. Men much prefer a stripe or a check as these patterns are apparently less offensive.

Grace Hamilton, spokesperson for www.MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk commented:

"It's so shocking that a girl's dress choice is considered to result in a bad date over a girl playing on her phone the whole night."

"I think it came as a shock to everyone in our office that men can be this vain and actually care about the pattern of girls' clothes seemingly above all else! I think it's unfair to judge a girl just because she decided to wear leopard print to go on a date. Girls if you want to wear leopard print, go ahead, and flaunt it!"
