Pippa Middleton spent the weekend at a British aristocrat's home following her split from her long-term boyfriend.

The younger sister of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge - whose 18-month relationship with ex-cricketer Alex Loudon ended earlier this month - was given a shoulder to cry on by pal George Percy, who invited her to spend time at his ancestral home.

The pair - who shared a flat while they attended Edinburgh University - spent three days at Alnwick Castle, which doubles as Hogwarts in the 'Harry Potter' film franchise.

On Sunday afternoon (13.11.11) George - the 27-year-old son and heir of the Duke of Northumberland - and Pippa attended a Remembrance Day service at St Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Alnwick.

David Archer, a Baptist minister, who led the ecumenical service, told Britain's Daily Telegraph: "I had noticed an attractive lady in the front row, but I did not know it was her. She did look like Pippa Middleton."

Father Phil Carroll, the new priest at St Paul's, also failed to notice Pippa, who shot to worldwide fame after wearing a tight white bridesmaids dress at her sister's wedding to Prince William in April.

He quipped: "That shows how much we know about what is going on."

Pippa and Alex are said to have ended their 18 month relationship because his family didn't see her as "wife material".
