Britain's Buckingham Palace is set host a Bollywood dance show.
The palace - which is home to Queen Elizabeth and husband Prince Philip - wants to entertain guests when Indian President Pratibha Patil visits the UK next week.
A 17-member British Asian dance group called Nutkut will stage Bollywood Steps on Tuesday (20.10.09), which is being choreographed by Simmy Gupta.
Bollywood Steps is me growing up in England being a British Asian. It is influenced by Bollywood films and Hollywood films. It goes from my classically trained background to contemporary hip-hop. It is up to date, really sexy and hot.
Gupta added: "Bollywood Steps is me growing up in England being a British Asian. It is influenced by Bollywood films and Hollywood films. It goes from my classically trained background to contemporary hip-hop. It is up to date, really sexy and hot."
It will take place in the ballroom, a room where Mendelssohn once performed organ recitals for Queen Victoria and which is now used for investitures and banquets.
The show will last 15 minutes and will be followed by a reception, where guests will be served traditional Indian food and canapes from the famous Veeraswamy restaurant.
The queen and Philip will receive the guests, who include actors Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhaskar, cricketer Monty Panesar, TV newsreader Krishnan Gurumurthy and the founder of British high street store New Look.
