Britain's Prince Philip has been rubbing shoulders with celebrities including Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow.

I think they are lovely, they just make you smile.

The 90-year-old royal - the husband of Queen Elizabeth - met with the Hollywood actresses at the re-opening of the swanky, members-only Arts Club in London's exclusive Mayfair district last night (05.10.11), of which the prince is a patron and member.

Gywneth - who is also a patron of the establishment - was reportedly asked by new owners Arjun Waney and Gary Landesberg to oversee the club's decor prior to its opening, and also performed at the re-opening alongside music producer Mark Ronson.

However, this is not the first time Hollywood A-listers and royalty have come together.

During their official tour of the US and Canada, Prince William and Duchess Catherine - who tied the knot in London's Westminster Abbey on April 29 - met with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and Tom Hanks at the BAFTA Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles.

Nicole said at the time: "I think they are lovely, they just make you smile."
