What wonderful feathers.

Britain's Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, had to fend of advances from a lusty bird while in the Galapagos Islands.

The duchess - who was touring North Seymour Island while on an official visit with her husband Prince Charles - was amazed when the great frigate puffed up its red breast as soon as it saw her.

The species usually increases the size of its red pouch when it wants to attract members of the opposite sex. The pouch can be inflated to the same size as the rest of the bird's body.

Charles and Camilla watched the bird's display with delight.

The prince said to his wife: "What wonderful feathers."

Great Frigates are known as ‘the pirate of the skies' because they are scavengers.

The royal couple also saw a pair of blue-footed boobies, who were courting each other.

Charles and Camilla ended their visit with a romantic stroll along one of the island's beaches, which houses a colony of sea lions.
