Sweden's Prince Carl Philip has returned to royal duties after being attacked at a nightclub.
The 33-year-old royal - who is the second child of King Carl Gustaf - was partying at Baoli Club in Cannes, France with his girlfriend Sofia Hellqvist when he was set upon by three men in the brutal assault.
The unprovoked incident - which took place on August 11 - saw him being struck across the face as shocked onlookers filmed the attack on their mobiles.
He told Aftonbladet newspaper the incident was "an emotional and overwhelming experience," but he said he has now fully recovered.
The prince returned to his royal duties on Tuesday (21.08.12) with a visit to the historic town of Värmland - from which he takes his title Duke of Värmland - for an inauguration of a manufacturing plant.
A palace spokesperson said: "Prince Carl Philip was the victim of an unprovoked attack by a stranger while with a companion on the night of August 11th outside a club in Cannes, France.
"We're considering how we can proceed with a possible lawsuit. This will be decided this week."
The handsome royal had only just arrived in the French town from London - where he and his brother-in-law, Prince Daniel, had supported the Swedish athletes in the 2012 Olympics Games - when the attack took place.
