Britain's Duchess of Cambridge will reportedly take up a post with Princess Diana's old army regiment.
Catherine, the wife of Diana's son Prince William, will be made honorary colonel of the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment, it has been claimed.
A source told The People newspaper: "A final decision will be made in a few weeks but the plan to head up Diana's regiment is advanced.
"Catherine doesn't want to be seen as copying Diana but she likes to pay tribute. She'd take the role very seriously indeed."
Diana - who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 - was forced to step down as colonel-in-chief of The Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment, which also is known as The Tigers, when she and William's father Prince Charles divorced in 1996.
Meanwhile, Catherine is also set to join William and his brother Prince Harry in a partnership with the Forces in Mind Trust.
The new charity helps former service personnel who are having trouble adjusting back to civilian life.
Nick Booth, the foundation's chief executive, said: "We are incredibly excited about this partnership with Forces in Mind.
"Taking a direct lead from our patrons, the foundation is committed to ensuring those who have given so much serving their country in the Armed Forces are, in turn, given as much support as they and their families need to re-integrate into civilian society.
"We hope the foundation's involvement and resources will further allow the Forces in Mind Trust to become a major new source of support and leadership in this incredibly important sector."
