Britain's Duchess of Cornwall was startled by gunfire during a noisy military display in Poland yesterday (17.03.10).
The duchess was visiting Poland's 1st Armoured Brigade on the outskirts of Warsaw with husband Prince Charles yesterday (17.03.10) when soldiers staged a mock ambush which caused her to jump and put her fingers in her ears to block out the loud bangs of the gunfire.
Camilla - who is currently on a nine-day tour of Europe with the Prince of Wales - made him laugh at her reaction to the noise of the bangs from the infantrymen who threw smoke grenades.
I think we've got a lot in common with British troops
The couple were later presented with a picture book about the country and chatted to soldiers who were about to be deployed to Afghanistan.
Lieutenant Sebastian Kolasinski, 28, who presented Charles and Camilla with the book, said: "I think we've got a lot in common with British troops. They are working out there and it's good to have such a distinguished guest here. The families have had a chance to meet them and I think it's great and will boost morale."
