Britain's Duchess of York has signed a reality television deal with the Oprah Winfrey Network.

It is true that my financial situation is under stress

The shamed royal was caught out earlier in the year by an undercover reporter attempting to sell access to her trade envoy ex-husband Prince Andrew for £500,000, and is now attempting to rebuild her damaged reputation.

After opening up to US chat show host Oprah Winfrey in a tell-all interview in May, the duchess - also known as Sarah Ferguson - has signed a deal with the star's network to feature in a new six-part reality television series 'Finding Sarah'.

The show - which is scheduled to premiere in early 2011 - will focus on the royal's relationships, as well as her lifelong struggle with her weight and the financial battles she has come to face.

Speaking to legendary chat show host Oprah in May, Sarah admitted she was "in the gutter" when she attempted to sell access to Andrew, with whom she has two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 22, and 20-year-old Princess Eugenie.

She explained: "I haven't faced the devil in the face. Because I was in the gutter at that moment. I very deeply regret the situation and the embarrassment caused. It is true that my financial situation is under stress. However, that is no excuse for a serious lapse in judgement and I am very sorry that this has happened."
