A British tourist spot was hit by a flash mob yesterday (23.05.12) to celebrate the forthcoming Jubilee Family Festival.
A group of jivers - clad in Union Jack dresses and white tuxedos and joined by a dancing policeman - surprised commuters in London's Piccadilly Circus early in the morning by showcasing their skills ahead of the event, which is being held in honour of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee celebrations on June 2 and 3.
The festival, which is taking place in London's Hyde Park, has strong dance elements, with an Alfresco Dance area and displays from stars of UK TV show 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The show's 2010 winners Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev will collaborate again on stage for a special Jubilee rendition of the show, to be hosted by Craig Revel Horwood. They will join 2011 finalist Chelsee Healey who will be partnered for the first time with 'Strictly' professional Robin Windsor.
Hosted by Myleene Klass and Jon Culshaw,it will also feature exclusive West End performances including the cast of 'Billy Elliot the Musical' singing 'Electricity' by Sir Elton John and Lee Hall.
The festival is set to feature 'The Lion King' as part of 'The Magic of Disney In Concert' finale and a special performance by the equine puppets from 'War Horse', Joey and Topthorn.
Visitors - who are asked to tweet from the event using the hash tag #JUBILEEFAMILYFEST - will be able to watch the BBC's live feed of the jubilee celebrations on big screens around the site.
