Britain's Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance at a movie premiere last night (19.11.09).

The girlfriend of Prince William looked "happy and relaxed" as she embraced pal Holly Branson

at the special screening of 'Tenacity on the Tasman' at London's Odeon Leicester Square.

The 27-year-old trainee photographer wore a light blue mini dress, blazer and boots, and won praise from waiting fans for her appearance.

An onlooker said: "It was great to see Kate out and about and looking so happy and relaxed.

"She looked sensational in a curve-skimming dress."

The film charts the story of Olly Hicks, who at 23 became the first person to row solo from America to England.

Her appearance in London comes just two months before she relocates to New York to train as a fashion photographer.

The pretty brunette - who has been dating the prince on-off for eight years - has a placement with snapper Nikolai von Bismark in January.

Kate is jetting to New York for the placement after spending Christmas with William and the royal family at their country estate Sandringham.
