Kim Kardashian wants a wedding cake modelled on the one Britain's Prince William had when he wed Duchess Catherine earlier this year.

The reality TV star and socialite reportedly wants to emulate the look of the 10-tier cake which William had when he wed Catherine Middleton in April this year.

A source told UsMagazine.com: "Kim wants it to resemble Prince William and Duchess Kate's!"

Kim and fiance Kris Humphries have already reportedly picked out a wedding treat from Hansen's Cakes in Los Angeles, said to cost between $15,000 and $20,000, on July 29.

While Kim's gateaux is said to contain chocolate-chip icing and black-and-white decorations, the British royals had an eight tier traditional fruitcake with cream and white piping, decorated with up to 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers.

The cake was designed by prestigious British baker Fiona Cairns who worked closely with the royals, saying: "Catherine wanted a traditional wedding cake with a modern twist."

She added that the cake took her and her team five weeks to make and tested them to their absolute limit.

Kim and Kris are to marry later this summer.
