A dwarf claims Mike Tindall could be to blame for an attack which has left him crippled, after the England rugby ace had watched a dwarf throwing contest in New Zealand.

A dwarf claims Mike Tindall inspired an attack which has left him crippled.

Martin Henderson was celebrating his birthday when an assailant crept up behind him, picked him up and threw him on the ground outside a pub in Wincanton, Somerset.

The attack happened just weeks after members of the England rugby team, including Mike - husband of Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter Zara Philips - had attended a 'Mad Midget Weekender' event in New Zealand, and watched a dwarf throwing contest.

The England players had been in trouble for going to a dwarf tossing event and this might have given this guy the idea.

Martin has been unable to recover from his injuries and needs crutches or a zimmerframe to get around, or a wheelchair for longer journeys.

He told The Sun newspaper: "The England players had been in trouble for going to a dwarf tossing event and this might have given this guy the idea."

Martin has appeared in two films in the 'Harry Potter' franchise, as well as TV shows including TV mini-series '10th Kingdom', but is worried his career could be ended the attack.

He explained: "I was at the back of the pub outside and the next thing I know I'm suddenly in the air and someone has got hold of me.

"A man just approached, lifted me up and dropped me. He didn't say anything.

"I managed to get up and after some swearing I went into the pub and three men who had been there earlier had left.

"I then went to hospital because I started to feel numb in my back and legs.

"I had surgery on my back in 2010 and was making really good progress and my surgeon was really happy with me.

"But then this happened and it's kicked it all off again. I keep falling over and I found out today that I have fractured my arm.

"Every time I stand up I don't know if I'm going to fall over. I will have to use a wheelchair and I won't get any acting jobs."
