Britain's Duchess of Cornwall was given a shopping bag with a cheeky slogan yesterday (10.09.09).

Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles, sported the carrier emblazoned with 'I'm an old bag from Deptford' at a homeless shelter in south east London.

The 62-year-old royal unintentionally brandished the unflattering motto as she posed for photographs at the 999 Club in Deptford.

However, after realising her mistake, Camilla laughed it off and joked that the bag suited her.

She was brilliant. She challenged me to a game, and she has definitely played it before.

Before her visit to the 999 Club - a drop-in centre which offers support and advice to vulnerable and homeless people - Camilla and Charles also met with people involved with the Camberwell Kids Company yesterday.

Camilla wowed a group of children by challenging ten-year-old Emmanuel Theophilus to a game of table tennis.

Emmanuel told Britain's Sun newspaper: "She was brilliant. She challenged me to a game, and she has definitely played it before."

Although Camilla demonstrated impressive skills with a table tennis paddle, the heir to the throne was defeated in his game with 10-year-old Kaya Medford.

Kaya said: "I thought he was quite good even though he missed a few easy shots."

Camberwell Kids Company works therapeutically with vulnerable children and young people.
