Royal NewsMonaco's Prince Albert reportedly feels betrayed by his former mistress after she revealed he was the father of her child, last week. The 47-year-old monarch, who acceded the throne following his father's death last month, was said to be furious after former air hostess Nicole Coste went public about their relationship - even though she had agreed not to publicise their affair until he had observed a three-month period of official mourning.Sources told Britain's Sunday Times newspaper that the prince had told Madame Coste he wanted to wait until when he was ready to publicly recognise the west African woman's son - now being referred to as the "black prince". Other aides have come to the defence of the bachelor prince, claiming he has been let down by the woman after she revealed intimate details of their relationship to France's Paris Match magazine.Royal biographer Frederic Laurent, who is also a close friend of the prince, described the former air hostess's interview as a "treachery" against the ruling monarch. He said: "Albert had promised to do the right thing and acknowledge the baby, but only after the mourning was over."Laurent also said that Coste's announcement put the prince in an impossible situation with regards making an announcement about 21-month-old Alexandre - while he continues to observe the official mourning period with his two sisters. He added: "He cannot make any declarations until that time is over. Those are the rules of mourning."
Meanwhile Monsieur Laurent also claimed that the prince's late father, Prince Rainier, had disapproved of his son's relationship with Ms Coste as well as all of his previous relationships.
He said: "He disapproved of all of Albert's girlfriends."
"Albert often would say, 'I'll get married when Rainier dies'"
