Britain's Prince Andrew opened a new university building yesterday (04.02.10).
The prince visited Newcastle University - where his youngest daughter Princess Beatrice is studying art history, English literature and politics - to officially open a £35 million student and administrative services building.
He said: "I came here wearing two hats, one as a member of the Royal family coming here to open a very important building and the other as a parent.

"A great deal of vision and effort has gone into creating this building and it is a particular pleasure for me to be here because I recognise how important it is for a university to support its students."
Eugenie - who started at the university last September - was not in attendance at the opening ceremony.
During his visit, Andrew was treated to a tour of the building, where he met with students and staff, before unveiling a plaque to mark the occasion.
