Britain's Prince Andrew is said to have introduced a ''shady'' financier to Queen Elizabeth at her Balmoral residence.

Britain's Prince Andrew allegedly introduced a "shady" Tory tycoon to Queen Elizabeth.

The prince is said to have introduced David Rowland to the queen at Balmoral Castle just nine days before he quit his post as treasurer for the Conservative party.

Mr. Rowland was shown around the house, which used to belong to the Queen Mother. It is where Charles feels most relaxed. Then Mr. Rowland returned to London.

The controversial businessman left the position before he had even taken it up after revelations were made about his business relations.

An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Mr. Rowland was shown around the house, which used to belong to the Queen Mother. It is where Charles feels most relaxed. Then Mr. Rowland returned to London."

David - who is the 25th richest man in Britain and a long-standing friend of Prince Andrew - was described by Labour MP Ron Brown as a "shady financier" after living as a tax exile for 40 years before returning to the UK in 2009 to donate to the Conservative party.

Andrew - Britain's global trade ambassador - was said to introduce the tycoon to his mother at her Scottish residence, where the trio had lunch.

He was then taken to Birkhall to meet the royal's brother, Prince Charles.
