Two female protestors who exposed their breasts to Britain's Prince Charles have had criminal charges against them dropped.Hanna Plant and Holly Fenwick, who had pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct after confronting the Prince of Wales in their native New Zealand earlier this year, were told on Tuesday (03.05.05) that the case against them has been withdrawn for no specific reason. The pair, both in their early twenties, accosted the prince bearing the slogan "get your colonial shame off my breasts" across their chests as he toured the capital, Wellington as part of a tour of south east Asia in March. Their public protest came just a day after New Zealand's prime minister, Helen Clark, said it was almost "inevitable" that the country would become a republic in the next few years.Ms Clark told Britain's BBC news at the time: "At some point, this country, 12,000 miles away, will seek its own destiny."The women also claimed their actions were spurred on by reports the prince had been embarrassed by a 'welcome' dance performed by bare-breasted aboriginal dancers during a visit to Australia's Alice Springs a few days earlier.
