Britain’s Prince Charles’ new book retails at £10,950.
The limited edition tome, titled ‘The Highgrove Florilegium’, will be available in May and combines two of the 60-year-old royal’s keenest interests, horticulture and painting.
The book includes 120 original prints taken from watercolour paintings of the gardens at Charles’ Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire, which are the reason for its hefty price tag.
All proceeds from the sale of the book .. which is 2ft by 1ft - will go to The Prince’s Charities Foundation, through which Charles supports a wide range of bodies.
To make ‘The Highgrove Florilegium’, botanical artists .. including Fay Ballard, Josephine Hague, Katherine Manisco, Kate Nessler and Jenny Phillips - were invited to the prince’s estate to draw the plants, trees, vegetables and herbs which cover the 15 acre gardens.
The works were then studied by an expert panel who then picked which should feature in the volume.
Each of the books will be autographed by Charles.
