Britain's Prince Charles has pledged his support to victims affected by flooding.
The Prince of Wales held a reception for teachers and pupils from 51 schools - including Ulverston Victoria High School in Cumbria, which has been badly affected by recent weather - who had been awarded the Prince's Teaching Institute School Programme Mark at Clarence House, London, and told the group he was "mortified" to hear about the tragedy.
He said: "I was mortified to hear about the floods that you have all been having to contend with there.

Flooding in areas of Cumbria, in particular Cockermouth, about an hour away from Ulverston Victoria High school, has resulted in many left homeless and isolated after water damaged properties and bridges.
Charles will reportedly visit the region on Friday (27.11.09) and has also made a donation to the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund.
The Prince's Teaching Institute School Programme Mark scheme "recognises and rewards the development of inspirational ideas and activities which enhance the teaching of English, history and science"
