Britain's Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, joined Prague worshippers for their Sunday service yesterday (21.03.10).

The Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla - who are at the end of a nine-day tour of Eastern Europe - made an unexpected visit to St Clement's, a 15th century gothic church, where they joined British and American people living in the city for an English language mass.

The church's Chaplain Reverend Ricky Yates - who greeted the royals at the steps of the church in the capital of the Czech Republic - announced to the congregation that the royals were seated in the front pew.

He said: "May I welcome with great pleasure their royal highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, who have joined us for worship as part of their trip.''

Charles and Camilla sung hymns with fellow worshippers and spoke to the youngest members of the congregation who gathered in front of them.

Gerry Turner, a British 63-year-old translator who attended the service said: ''Everyone is really pleased to have had the prince and duchess here - especially the Americans.''

It was the prince's fifth visit to the Czech Republic and the first official trip for Camilla.
