Prince Frederick arrives in Vietnam

Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik has arrived in Vietnam, where he was given an official welcome ceremony.

Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik has arrived in Vietnam.

The prince was given an official welcome ceremony yesterday (28.11.11) and was then received by state and government leaders.

He then had a meeting with Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan in Hanoi, where the two leaders expressed their pleasure at the development of the friendship and relations between the two countries, especially in economics, trade and investment, development cooperation education and scientific research.

They said it was important to maintain regular high-ranking visits between the two countries, as it will strengthen the bond between them. Later on, Frederick was received by President Truong Tan Sang, who said that Vietnam needs to benefit from the experience of developed economies, including Denmark, as the country is attempting to shift itself to a new stage of development with a focus on quality growth.

At a reception for Frederik, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung spoke highly of the royal's visit, which is taking place on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic ties, saying that the visit will help deepen bilateral cooperative relations in all aspects.
