Prince Harry can't wait to watch beach volleyball at the London Olympics.

The royal has invited a group of his Army friends to London to watch the event with him and added he is especially looking forward to seeing the historic Horse Guards Parade in the city turned into a giant beach for the sport.

He said: "I'll try to get round to see as many things as possible. It's going to be a fantastic event.

"To see Horse Guards Parade turned into a beach is going to be amazing. I've got lots of Army friends that are coming down for that so we'll be sitting there watching that.

"When you see something like this, the scale that it's going to be on and the amount of people coming from all across the world, it's going to be an exciting time.

"Fingers crossed for the weather. Hopefully we haven't had summer already. I think everyone is really looking forward to it."

Harry also revealed he has tickets for a number of sports and hopes his cousin Zara Phillips will make Great Britain's eventing team.

He said: "I've managed to put my name down for quite a few. Fingers crossed for Zara obviously, so we've got that in the back burner just in case."
