Britain's Prince Philip will miss today's (12.06.12) Sandringham garden party.
The Duke of Edinburgh recently spent five days in hospital with a bladder infection and instead of being by wife Queen Elizabeth's side as she hosts the soiree at her Norfolk estate, he will be recovering at Windsor Castle.
Philip - who was released on Saturday (09.06.12), the day before his 91st birthday - will also not accompany the queen on her visit to Nottingham tomorrow (13.06.12).
Instead the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will travel with the 86-year-old monarch on her two-day trip to the East Midlands.
Philip was taken to hospital during the queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations despite seeming in good spirits the day before as the royal family made their way down the Thames river on an impressive barge.
It meant he missed the star-studded concert outside Buckingham Palace and the service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral.
During his stay at the hospital, Philip was visited by the queen, Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward and his family.
To mark his 91st birthday, a 41-gun salute by the King's Troop in Hyde Park took place as well as a 62-gun salute by the Honourable Artillery Company at the Tower of London.
