Britain's Prince Philip met Ghana's President John Agyekum Kufuor during his royal visit to the country.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is married to Queen Elizabeth, was in Ghana to preside over the 30th Triennial Conference of the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League in Accra, but also made time to meet with the president.

After posing for photographs in the foyer of the Castle on Monday (21.07.08), Philip and the president retired to his office for official discussions.

Later in the day, the president accompanied Philip to the Kotoka International airport to bid farewell as he returned to the UK following his two day official visit.

Next week, Prince Philip will visit a historic club in Norfolk, England, where he will enjoy a special lunch focusing on Norfolk produce.

Club president Paddy Seligman said: "I am delighted the Duke of Edinburgh has accepted our invitation to lunch with former presidents and officers of the club. It is an immense honour for us all and will be a memorable occasion. We very much look forward to welcoming His Royal Highness."
