Britain's Prince Philip gets his grandchildren to programme his TV.
The 88-year-old royal - whose grandchildren include Princes William and Harry, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie - has lashed out at the design of modern televisions, claiming they are too hard to use.
He said: "To work out how to operate a TV set you practically have to make love to the thing.
"They put the TV controls on the bottom so you had to lie on the floor, and then if you wanted to record something the recorder was underneath, so you ended up lying on the floor with a torch in your teeth, a magnifying glass and an instruction book.
To work out how to operate a TV set you practically have to make love to the thing.
"Either that or you had to employ a grandson of age 10 to do it for you."
The prince, who is renowned for his outspoken views, added the new design made it hard for him to use TVs.
Philip was speaking to commemorate the 50th anniversary of a prize by the Design Council which is in his name.
He told presenter of UK TV show 'Grand Designs' Kevin McCloud: "And why can't you have a handset that people who are not 10 years old can actually read?"
