Britain's Duke of Edinburgh enjoyed a private performance by an 'X Factor' contestant last night (22.10.09).
Prince Philip, 88 - who is believed to be a big fan of the British singing TV show - was treated to an intimate concert by eccentric opera singer Rhydian Roberts, who appeared in the 2007 series of the programme.
I hear that the great man didn't have to venture out of his own home to be entertained last night. Rhydian Roberts, a runner-up on 'The X Factor', performed for the prince at Windsor Castle.
The white haired singer arrived at Windsor Castle for the performance after Philip had presented prizes for the prestigious golf competition, the Duke of Edinburgh Cup.
Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper columnist Tim Walker reports: "I hear that the great man didn't have to venture out of his own home to be entertained last night. Rhydian Roberts, a runner-up on 'The X Factor', performed for the prince at Windsor Castle."
It has been reported Queen Elizabeth was not at the official royal residence at the time of the performance.
Rhydian, 26, came second in the fourth series of the show. He lost out to 'Don't Call This Love' singer Leon Jackson.
