Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first wedding anniversary is set to be a low-key affair.
On April 29 it will be exactly 12 months since Prince William married Kate Middleton but insiders say they won't be doing anything lavish to mark the momentous occasion.
Robert Jobson, the official royal commentator for NBC, ITN News and 'Daybreak', said: "I should not think that the queen (William's grandmother) will mark the anniversary with a gift as it is a private moment between the couple."
It is also thought William will refrain from giving Duchess Catherine a piece of jewellery belonging to his late mother, Princess Diana, as he has already presented her with her engagement ring and a pair of earrings.
Victoria Arbiter, the Royal Correspondent for CBS News, says: "I would be surprised if we even saw them. They just got back from a fairly ritzy skiing holiday, and they'll be aware of how [going away] would be perceived by the public.
"There's lots of speculation that William might give Kate another item from Diana's jewellery collection. It's possible. But I think he's got to be careful if that does prove to be the case. He gave her Diana's engagement ring; he gave her a pair of Diana's earrings as a gift. I don't know that he wants to mark every anniversary with another piece of his mother's jewellery.
"Kate is very gracious and she looks at William giving her any of his mother's jewellery as a tremendous sign of love but I think any girl at some point is going to be like, 'Could I just have something that's just mine?'"
