A theatre has had to rethink naming Britain's Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie 'The Ugly Sisters' in a production of Cinderella.
The makers of the pantomime - which will take place at Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering, Northamptonshire - have decided to change the names of Cinderella's two step-sisters as many people found it offensive.
Writer and director Gerry Tebbutt, who is playing one of the sisters, told the Northampton Evening Telegraph: "We originally decided on the Ugly Sisters' names as Beatrice and Eugenie, but there have been some concerns including from the venue and we have listened to the views of local people.
"We have therefore reflected and agree that maybe the girls have had enough attention this year and we certainly wouldn't want to add any further negative connotations that this might bring.
"There are plenty of other funny names we can use and that's exactly what we'll do."
Beatrice and Eugenie - daughters of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - were dubbed the "Ugly Sisters" after they turned up at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wearing unflattering outfits and bizarre headpieces.
