Princess Letizia's Steps Out Of Heels

Spain's Princess Letizia astounded fans by stepping out without her high heels on a day out in India.

Letizia, 37 - who is on a state visit to the country with her husband Crown Prince Felipe - swapped her legendary fashionable footwear for a pair of green pumps.

The princess was then seen slipping off her shoes in accordance with royal custom as they couple paid tribute to Mahatmna Gandhi at his memorial in Delhi.

The prince and princess paid tribute to the great pacifist by laying red and yellow flowers.

So far, the royal duo's first official visit to India has been busy with a packed itinerary.

Since arriving on Tuesday (09.11.09) they have attended a conference on Spain and India's economic relations followed by a special breakfast with Indian president Pratibha Patil.

They also opened India's first Instituto Cervantes, an international organization that promotes the Spanish language.

The princess and Prince Felipe have two children together, Leonor, four, and two-year-old Sofia.
