Princess Marie's First Trip Abroad

Denmark's Princess Marie has taken her first official trip abroad since she became a mother.

The 33-year-old royal - who is married to Queen Margrethe's youngest son, Prince Joachim - was joined by her husband as they left the country and travelled to Hong Kong for the first time since she gave birth to baby Henrik on May 4.

The couple - who have taken the tot with them on the six-day visit - will be in the Chinese region until November 29 in a bid to boost Danish businesses in the area.

Henrik will be cared for by a nanny whilst Marie and Joachim, 40, are away on perform their royal duties.

Little Henrik - full name Prince Henrik Carl Joachim Alaim - was christened during an elaborate ceremony in July. Before then, his name had been kept secret.

The baptism was attended by 141 guests, including the royal family and members of other European royal houses.

Joachim has two other sons, Princes Nikolai and Felix, from his first marriage to Alexandra Christina, Countess of Frederiksborg - who he met in Hong Kong 15 years ago.
