Sweden's Queen Silvia has praised Princess Victoria's fiance Daniel Westling, saying he will make a successful" husband.
The monarch is happy with her daughter's choice of partner and believes the fitness uinstructor has what it takes to be the spouse of a princess.
She said: "I think he's going to do well. He's going to be successful in his task of helping the princess."
Victoria and David will marry next June at Storkyrkan, Stockholm's cathedral, next to the royal palace, and while their union has the backing of the queen, others have blasted the princess' choice of partner because he is not a member of the aristocracy.
Daniel has been very active in these years and has set up his own business.
But Sylvia - the wife of King Carl XVI Gustaf - said it was not a problem.
She said: "Daniel has been very active in these years and has set up his own business.
"I hope he can share his experiences and help bring modernity to the court.
Victoria and David, who have been dating since 2002, got engaged in February.
