Britain's Prince Harry is about to move to a US military base with "absolutely no" facilities.

The third in line to the British throne is currently in America for training as an Apache helicopter pilot and about to move to Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field in Arizona, where his living conditions at the Desert Hideaway Inn are sparse.

Teresa Walker, spokesperson for the base, told People.com: "There are no services on Gila Bend Auxiliary Field. Absolutely none. There's no store. There's no restaurant. There's no gas station. There's no 7-11.

News of Harry's imminent arrival has spread through the state, with Senator John McCain recommending an alternative choice of accommodation for the 27-year-old royal.

He tweeted: "Prince Harry in Gila Bend, AZ! I recommend the Space Age Lodge."

The Space Age Lodge is a UFO themed hotel which boasts hand-painted murals of space shuttles, and is located ten minutes drive from the Auxiliary Field.

Duke Fox, owner of the hotel said: "The king-size room comes with the king size bed, tub-shower combination, it's got a vanity system and it has air-conditioning.

Prices for a room are $100 a night, rising to $119 in November, but Mr. Fox said if Harry wanted to stay, he'd could drop the price.

Harry spent his first week in the US at the more luxurious Andaz Hotel in San Diego.
