Britain's Duchess of York has praised ex-husband Prince Andrew for the work he does on his trips abroad.

Sarah Ferguson - who has two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with the Duke of York - has always remained close to Andrew despite their divorce and she has taken to her twitter account to highlight the good work he does when he leaves the UK.

Speaking about Andrew's official visit to India, Sarah wrote: "I am so proud of Prince Andrew, The Duke of York for succeeding in a gruellingly busy trip to India.

"Great Britain should know of his committment and hard work to this country!

"Yesterday HRH visited The Stone of Remembrance in Kohima to lay a wreath in memory of all the war victims...

"The Duke has been a hit in India+has made such an impact on behalf of the UK. India is so taken by him. (sic)"

The duchess then went on to tweet about other visits Andrew had made.

She wrote: "Today he went to the Women's Interlink Foundation Centre in Eastern India, thenTata Medical Institute. Is he is at The Future Hope School and opened science laboratories..."

Over the years, Andrew has been nicknamed Airmiles Andy because of his love of travel and the numerous trips abroad he makes.
